I think about this quote every time someone tells me that something is half the battle. The implication is, at best, illustrating speaker’s inane belief that it is the hard part, failing to appreciate that everything related with anything worth doing is hard. Or, worst case, they simply have no plan for the second half and are relying on the black box.
If you look at my definition of black box, it would be like saying, “Getting everyone in the same room is half the battle…”
